Earthquake Drill

Yesterday, the Santa Barbara Harbor Patrol participated in a successful earthquake drill to test the City’s ability to respond effectively to an emergency. These types of exercises are important to ensuring public safety and testing vital equipment. It’s good to see them taking a proactive approach to safety.

Emergency Alert Test

FEMA, in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), will conduct the first nationwide Emergency Alert System (EAS) Test on November 9, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern.
