The Coast Guard Icebreaker Mackinaw officially becomes a Maritime Museum today. This ship which is also known as the “Queen of the Great Lakes” has served the nation for decades. Today she is honored for that service.

We’ve learned that NOAA has been busy collecting data in order to update Nautical Charts for the Puget Sound area. Increased vessel traffic in the area has made these updates necessary. This is something we really like to see.
Take Me Fishing is a great website with lots of resources for those who like to fish. It’s got interactive maps, which is something we love. There’s boating info too. A little something for everyone interested in boating and fishing.

The Coast Guard Cutter Eagle is making a New Bedford Port Call this coming Friday. If you’re in the area, they’ll have afternoon public tours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Click link for additional information on public tours aboard America’s Tall Ship.
Atlantic City is getting a nautical vessel visit. The tall ship A.J. Meerwald will be there all week. They will be hosing public tours of the ship.
