Louisiana’s boating deaths decreased last year by about 21 percent, following a nationwide trend of fewer accidents and fatalities on American waterways, according to a new report by the U.S. Coast Guard.The state had a total of 19 boating fatalities in 2017, falling from 24 in 2016, according to the report.
