Wear your vest

Four men drowned off the California coast near Santa Barbara, none were wearing life vests. No one knows for sure, but there’s a good chance they’d survived had they been taking safety precautions as the water was relatively calm. Be safe out there folks.

Bilge Pads

Earthquake Drill

Yesterday, the Santa Barbara Harbor Patrol participated in a successful earthquake drill to test the City’s ability to respond effectively to an emergency. These types of exercises are important to ensuring public safety and testing vital equipment. It’s good to see them taking a proactive approach to safety.

Parade of Lights

It’s parade day at the Santa Barbara waterfront. Should be a spectacle of nautical fun and fireworks afterwards. If you’re in the area, bundle up and come on down.
