Are your nautical charts up-to-date? It never hurts to check. NOAA has a nice list of charting products for boaters. We know we’ve covered this topic before, but it never hurts to be reminded from time to time. There are always new navigational hazards out there. It’s best to avoid them.
This Marine Map is fun to use. Long Beach, CA was added to the “Areas” section on the left vertical menu and was able to view Cargo Vessels, Tankers, and Tug, Pilot boats. It looks like the The Mariners’ Museum is planning some events associated with the 100th anniversary of the infamous fate of the Titanic. The museum is located in Virginia, check out there website for event listing. Could be an interesting outing for folks who’ll be in the area.

It should go without saying that all vehicles boats, cars, trucks, etc. need regular maintenance. That being said, it’s always a good idea to have a regular maintenance schedule for your vessel, and to inspect in before taking it out on the water.
