The Santa Barbara harbor is going to make a big push to finish implementing its marina management software. Some projects just take longer than expected. In the end the delay works out for the best.

We were just reading through the latest weathers apps, navigation apps, safety apps, etc. all cool stuff, this technology, but no substitute for knowing the basics for when you’re out at sea.

NOAA Cancels Nautical Chart App, Refocuses on Breaking up Charts | FEDweek: Federal Manager’s Daily Report. We think what this really means is that they were in over their heads and not up to the task of using technology, nor providing this type of public service.

Phase Two

Work on the visitor portion of the new Marina Management system at the Santa Barbara Harbor begins, with the goal of having it completed by the end of the year. More info to come as the project moves forward.

Little Tweaks

Making Improvements
