Water Rescue

The Santa Barbara Harbor Patrol and Santa Barbara Fire Department responded to reports to a person in the water off of Stearns Wharf on Saturday, September 8, 2012, just after noon. The person appeared to be in trouble. Two bystanders on the pier jumped in the water to assist until emergency personnel arrived.

Diver Drowns

Santa Barbara diver Andres Martinez appears to have drowned while diving near Santa Cruz Island. Has body was found by the Coast Guard and an investigation is underway as to the circumstances of the apparent accident. Our condolences go out to friends and family of Mr. Martinez.
