It should be a busy weekend. If you’re out boating, be safe and enjoy your time on the water. We’ve got two cruise ships visiting the Santa Barbara harbor, so it should be a nice photo-op.
This Marine Map is fun to use. Long Beach, CA was added to the “Areas” section on the left vertical menu and was able to view Cargo Vessels, Tankers, and Tug, Pilot boats. It appears that the cause for the serious accident involving the Costa Cruise ship could have been avoided. It appears that the Captain took the ship off course onto an unauthorized route with serous consequences. There are lessons to be learned here. When you’re responsible for the lives of others, use extreme caution.
